ACP’s Welcome Reception & Introduction Meeting with Secretary, MoCA on July 10, 2025 at Hotel – The Oberoi, New Delhi

Strengthening US–India Aviation Collaboration

The US–India Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP) was honored to host a reception and welcome meeting with Mr. Samir Kumar Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), and Mr. Vipin Kumar, Chairman, Airports Authority of India.

This meaningful interaction brought together industry leaders and senior policymakers to explore the road ahead for US–India aviation—a journey built on collaboration, coordination, and a shared vision for the future.

In his welcome remarks, Commander Arun Jyoti (Retd.), ACP Co-chair (Industry), shared:

“Aviation connects more than just destinations—it connects economies, cultures, and aspirations. In the Indo-Pacific century, the skies are not just pathways of commerce, but corridors of cooperation.” He emphasized ACP’s role as a strategic bridge across policy, technology, and industry—deepening the US–India bilateral aviation partnership.

We are deeply grateful for the presence and insights of:

  • Mr. Samir Kumar Sinha, Secretary, MoCA
  • Ms. Amy Schedlbauer, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy
  • Ms. Nathalie Scharf, Deputy Minister Counselor, U.S. FCS
  • Mr. Philip Cummings, Deputy Minister Counselor, Economic, Environment, Science & Technology, U.S. Embassy
  • Dr. Daniel Jacob, FAA Attaché and Senior FAA Rep for South Asia
  • Mr. Bhupinder Kumar, Regional Program Coordinator – South Asia, USTDA

Their leadership and candid discussions highlighted the importance of government–industry alignment to drive progress in areas like sustainability, technology, safety, and customer experience.

ACP remains committed to being a catalyst across following six key focus areas:

  1. Infrastructure Modernization – Smart airports, advanced MROs, and AI-powered systems
  2. Air Traffic Efficiency – Integrated airspace for drones, air taxis, and new aviation platforms
  3. Cybersecurity & 5G – Ensuring safe digital skies and connected ecosystems
  4. Training & Skilling – Building a future-ready workforce with globally recognized programs
  5. Regulatory Best Practices – Supporting MoCA, DGCA, and BCAS in global benchmarking
  6. Sustainability & Resilience – Promoting SAF, electric aviation, and robust supply chains

The future of Indian aviation is bright—and with the continued support of both nations, it will be innovative, inclusive, and globally competitive.
